Atlantic Council brought together the Turkish and Iraqi Kurdish officials

On November 2-3, representatives of the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Administration were in Turkey for the “The last developments in the Turkey-North Iraq Relations” meeting organized by the US orginated The Atlantic Council. At the meeting cooperation between Turkey and the Northern Iraq in the fields of energy and economy were discussed.

The Head of the Presedential Board and Private Representative of Mesut Barzani, Fuah Hüseyin, Minister of Foreign Affairs Falah Mustafa Bakır, Minister of Investment Heriş Muharrem, Chief Advisor of the Ministery of Natural Sources Halid Salih and the Minister of Education Safin Sizayi of the Iraq Kurdish Regional Administration were present in the meeting.
Education and energy would create a synergy

Chief Advisor of the Minister of Natural Sources Halid Salih has denoted “We regard Turkey as a power which is going to ensure the stability in the Middle East both for present and in the future. Turkey needs energy resources and we have the resources. We have mutual benefits”.
The Minister of Education Dizayi indicated that they were so impressed by the public and private schools in Turkey and they were going to take Turkish education system as model .

It is already known that the Fethullah Gülen religious community from Turkey have schools in Erbil and Suleymaniye and they established a university last year. The statement of Diyazi was interpreted as a sign of further cooperation between this community and the Kurdish administration.
