As the tender which has been initiated by the Iraq government for the expansion of oil fields largely remained inconclusive, the consortium which consists of BP and the Chinese CNPC company, won the tender of Rumeyle oil field expansion in Basra.

soL (INTERNATIONAL) The Iraq government has been faced with a game which has been prepared by giant companies on the tender of the expansion of oil fields. The companies who participated to the tender in Iraq for the expansion of 6 oil and 2 natural gas fields, they capitulated far beyond the awaited amounts oil to drill and as well as they keep up payment which they demanded to government of Iraq for the oil that they drill, the tender has been largely remained inconclusive.

The companies who participated, competed for the tenders of Rumeyle in Basra, West Kurna and Zubeyr, the oil fields in Misan, Bay Hassan and Kirkuk oil fields in Kirkuk and Akkas in El Enbar and Mansuriye natural gas field in Diyale.

With the one agreement that materialised in tender, the expansion of Rumeyle oil field in Basra obtained by the consortium which consists of BP and the Chinese CNPC company. After the tender, Hüseyin Şehristani the Oil President of Iraq made a statement to the press, he denoted that the digits which the companies given were above the awaited digits and stated that, “ In today’s tender, we faced with the surprise that the bids of the companies could be above of our targeted daily oil produce. We aim to deduct our daily oil produce from 2 million 400 thousand barrels to 4 million barrels. With the expansion of Rumeyle field which has been obtained by the concortium of BP and the Chinese CNPC companies, we could deduct our daily produce above 4 million barrels.”

The companies which won the tender, will get 2 dolars for each barrel that they will produce above the daily produce which has been determinated by the Iraq Oil Ministry on the oil fields in produce and their contract of service will last 20 years. In the circumstances, it means that as the companies produce over the determinated amounts by ministrial, Iraq government will pay sizeable amounts to the companies.

China’s control increase
The specialists attract attention to the only corporation which arrived at agreement in tender is the concortium of Chinese CNPC and BP, they also point attention to China that their ever increasing oil import is important to increasing their control through this tender.
