About soL

soL (Left in Turkish) is an internet newspaper, which is published daily in Turkish since May 2006.
Before that, soL had been a printed magazine. Depending on the needs of the struggle for socialism, the period and context of soL changed several times since 1998, when the magazine first started to be published.
The English version of soL, which provides only a sample of the news articles from the Turkish version, intends to introduce the agenda of the left movement in Turkey.

Principles of soL

soL is for the international values of the left.
soL is egalitarian.
soL is for labor.
soL is anti-imperialistic.
soL is patriotic.
soL is against chauvinism and fascism.
soL is for the unity of proletarians of all countries.
soL is against all kinds of exploitation and discrimination.
soL is for enlightenment.

soL doesn’t hide that it despises collaborators, liberals and reactionaries. soL assumes as its duty to be in solidarity with Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and all other progressive powers. soL acts upon the principle that it is not possible to be a leftist without struggling against the European Union. soL continuously emphasizes that Turks and Kurds have no way out other than unity, and that the unity would be strengthened in the struggle against imperialism.

soL is a sided newspaper, but it refers to realities. soL is a sided newspaper, but it stays away from slander, gossip and insult. soL is a sided newspaper, but it doesn’t ignore, where it does not suit.

soL does not cover everything, but only the subjects which are omitted or manipulated by the capitalist media. 

soL is the eye, ear, voice and the pen of the ones, who want to look from the left side.

soL is the bench of the ones, who put their labor, heart and life for the bright future of Turkey and the world.
